Quelle Chris - Being you is Great! I Wish I Could Be You More Often - LP - Mello Music Group - 2017
Quelle Chris' 2017 eccentric hip-hop release is exceptional. His unique flow, interesting subject matter, and choice of beats makes the album a strange but beautiful work. He did most of the beats and rapping but has several artists accompanying him like Mndsgn, Chris Keys, House Shoes, and Elzhi, Overall, this is well done album and something that you can listen to straight through.
Notable tracks:#3 Popeye, #6 BS Vibes, #8 Calm Before, #14 It's great to be.

Lorine Chia and Romero Mosley - When Morning Comes - EP - Sweet Noise/ Jamtown records - 2017
Lorine Chia and Romero Mosley came together and created an outstanding EP. The vocals and music combine to create a soulful, eclectic, vibe that is very rare these days. Lorine's voice sounds effortless and graceful, yet gritty and emotional. Romero's production was phenomenal on so many levels, and i'm having a hard time understanding why this didn't blow up. There's even a Sun Ra sample in there for the music heads. This is music for artists and I can't wait for people to enjoy it as much as I did.

Iman Omari, (Feat Buddy) -Backwoods (Third Eye) - Single - Squatch Records - 2017
You might have heard Iman Omari's weird, neck braking, beats on the YouTube channel GodsConnect, where he remixes old hip-hop videos. On this single, he teamed up with Buddy to make, an great song about weed. This uplifting song features another simple, but dope Iman Omari beat. It has some weird filter and time stretch effect that sounds like it was made on old Boss SP-303. Buddy does a nice job of complimenting the beat with some basic, but well composed lines, and some cool staccato like technique. This song could end up being my cannabis related anthem of the year.
